Strawberry body shape
Strawberry shape is referred to sometimes as an inverted triangle or cone shape. The defining feature of your body shape is your broad shoulders, which taper down to slimmer hips giving you a more athletic looking build. The key rule of dressing for cone shapes is to bring balance top and bottom by drawing the eye to your bottom half and minimising the top half. You can do this in a number of ways. Avoid adding breadth at the shoulders by steering clear of shoulder pads, sharply structured jackets and epaulettes. Have fun with colour and pattern on your bottom half and look for structured skirts such as fashionable tulip and lantern skirts.
Fuller skirts and wide leg trousers will balance out your bodyshape beautifully. Don’t be afraid of bright colour on your bottom half. Choose fashion for a bigger bust like V-necks and wrap tops – our Simply Voluptuous range is ideal.
Pear shaped Body Type
Pear -also known as Spoon or Bell or Triangle Upward) consists of a waist which is at least 75% of the chest, and the hips is at least 110% of the chest. You are smaller on top, and larger on the bottom. Women who have heavy bottoms and small busts are said to have pear-shaped bodies. Most have a slim torso and rib cage and their waist may be smaller in proportion to their hips. They also have a fuller bottom and legs.
1-Large hips and thighs
2-Smaller upper body. Your bust and shoulders are proportionally narrower than your hip-line
3-You have a well-defined waist
4-A waist to hip ratio of less than 0.8 makes you a pear shape
5-You tend to carry extra weight in the hips and thighs while maintaining a smaller waist, arms, shoulders, and chest.
6-When you gain weight, it tends to show up around your thighs and hips and then on your arms and breasts,
7-You may have thick calves and puffy knees. Water retention is one of the most obvious reason for puffy knees,
8-Pear shape is a very common body type.
Pear-shaped women don't face the same health risks as the Apple shape, but their fat is more stubborn. It's been scientifically shown that fat in the central-body area, the upper body, chest, thorax and so on, is mobilized much more readily than fat in the gluteal and femoral areas. That is, the fat in the hip/thigh/buttock region is more resistant to mobilization--it likes to stay put. Thus, Pears are at a disadvantage from the beginning. Pear-Women who add pounds around their hips, butt and thighs – are more susceptible to problems like: cellulite,
varicose veins, osteoporosis, eating disorders.
Apple body shape
If you are the Apple of someone’s eye then you’re pretty in proportion but tend to carry your weight around your mid section without a well-defined waist. You may also have fabulous legs and/or boobs so dressing is all about showing off those best bits and avoiding adding volume round your middle.
Bring out your best:Empire line and longer length tops will flatter your figure. Go for low-ish necklines to draw the eye upwards.
Best to avoid:Short, boxy jackets and pleated or tiered skirts are not your friends. Cast them out now and feel forever better.

RECTANGLE BODY TYPE
You have the most common body type,a Straight body shape This means that your hips and bust are balanced and your waist is not very defined. You probably have a bottom that is more flat than round. You tend to gain weight in your torso first and then your upper thighs and arms. Your lower legs are always shapely and one of your best assets.
How to Dress a rectangle Body Shape
The key to dressing a Straight body type is to proportionally dress the top and bottom of your body while enhancing your waist. If you are comfortable doing so, you can wear form fitting clothing (such as a tube-type dress) and create a waist by adding a wide, dark belt. However, to create a more curvaceous effect add volume (or the illusion of volume) proportionally to your upper and lower body by mixing and matching suggested separates.
ANDROID TYPE
The Android body type has broad shoulders and strong muscular limbs. The trunk is somewhat straight up and down and there is not much of a waist. The pelvis is narrow and the hips do not flare. Android types have an anabolic metabolism, which means that they tend to be body- building and will gain weight in the upper part of their body so that they may become apple-shaped. Most of their weight gain occurs on the front of the abdomen. They build muscle mass easily and make good athletes. They tend to produce more male hormones than do the other body types. Android types tend to crave foods that are high in cholesterol and salt. The body turns cholesterol into steroid hormones, which will have a body building effect. This may lead to some cellulite in the abdominal area, trunk and upper buttocks, but not below the hips.
Thyroid body
Thyroid body types are characterised by relatively long limbs with fine, narrow bones. They often become dancers and models, and can be described as having a 'race-horse' or 'greyhound' appearance.
Thyroid women consume stimulants in excess. These include; caffeine, nicotine, diet pills etc. A high metabolic rate allows them to eat generously with little or no weight gain. Of all the body types, Thyroid women are least likely to develop cellulite, but if it does occur, it will be on the buttocks and backs of the thighs.
Gynaeoid body
Curvaceous hips with a tapered, small waist are the prominent features for Gynaeoid women. They have small to medium shoulders and the breasts vary in size. The hips and thighs curve outwards and weight gain occurs only below the waistline.
Gynaeoid women tend to have a predominance of the female hormone oestrogen, (oestrogen dominance) which targets the uterine region, the hips, thighs and breasts. Excessive oestrogens promote fat deposition around the lower parts of the body as well as cellulite. If weight loss is attempted by following a very low fat low calorie diet, there is a reduction from the breasts, shoulders and arms etc., but alas not from the thighs and buttocks.
Type Lymphatic
Body type Lymphatic people have very slow metabolic rate.
Weight gain occurs over the entire body very easily, accompanied by a dysfunctional lymphatic system with fluid retention. The bone structure of these body types appears to be absent. This type women appear fatter than their actual weight.
Cellulite is common.
These body type people like dairy products, and do not like any exercise or physical activity.
Their weight loss efforts can be excellent and long lasting.
MEN body type
ECTOMORPH BODY TYPE
1-Definitive "Hard Gainer"
2-Delicate Built Body
3-Flat Chest
4-Fragile
5-Lean
6-Lightly Muscled
7-Small Shouldered
8-Takes Longer to Gain Muscle
9-Thin
The extreme ectomorph physique is a fragile and delicate one. The bones are light, joints are small and muscles are slight. The limbs are relatively long in proportion and the shoulders droop. The ectomorph is a linear physique. Straight up and straight down, and may appear longer than he or she really is, due to the length of limbs coupled with lack of muscle mass developed on those limbs. The ectomorph is not naturally powerful and will have to work hard for every ounce of muscle and every bit of strength he or she can gain.
Other Ectomorph Traits
The extreme ectomorph may have long fingers, toes and neck are long. A pencil neck you could say. The features of the face are sharp, and the shape of the face is triangular. The lower jaw is somewhat receding. The skin tends to burn easily. Extreme ectomorphs may suffer from extremes of temperature. Due to the great body area in relation to muscle mass, the ectomorph may suffer from great heat, and due to low body fat, the ectomorph may suffer from great cold. The hair is fine and grows quickly and is sometimes difficult to keep in place
MESOMORPH
A mesomorph has a large bone structure, large muscles and a naturally athletic physique. Mesomorphs are the best body type for bodybuilding. They find it quite easy to gain and lose weight. They are naturally strong which is the perfect platform for building muscle.
Typical traits on a Mesomorph:
1-Athletic
2-Hard body with well defined muscles
3-Rectangular shaped body
4-Strong
5-Gains muscle easily
6-Gains fat more easily than ectomorphs
The mesomorph body type responds the best to weight training. Gains are usually seen very quickly, especially for beginners. The downside to mesomorphs is they gain fat more easily than ectomorphs. This means they must watch their calorie intake. Usually a combination of weight training and cardio works best for mesomorphs.
ENDOMORPHS.BODY TYPE
Endomorphs are the naturally fat body type. These are the men and women who were likely always at least a little bit bigger, thicker and often fatter than everyone else most of their lives. These are the people who, despite their diet or workout, seem to gain weight just thinking about food and find it nearly impossible to lose it and keep it off.
This isn’t true of course (anyone who eats fewer calories than they burn will always lose weight), it’s just the genetics of an endomorph make it a whole lot harder to reach that point for weight loss to occur, especially when compared to the other body types.
Common Genetic Traits of Endomorphs:
1-Super slow metabolism.
2-Thick bone structure (thick wrists, thick ankles, etc.).
3-Often people who love to eat and have huge appetites.
4-Naturally big and strong.
5-Naturally lacking tone, definition and any real form of leanness.
So if your goal is to just be really big and strong or excel at sports and activities based around these physical characteristics, then you definitely want to be an endomorph rather than an ectomorph and possibly even a mesomorph.
But if your goal is to be skinny, lean, ripped, toned or anything similar, then you endomorphs definitely have your work cut out for you. People with this body type will definitely have a harder time losing fat.
So, while this is the body type that can typically gain the most muscle and be the strongest of the group, endomorphs definitely got screwed when it comes to fat loss. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t lose as much fat as you need to. You most definitely can… it’s just going to be a bit harder than it is for a mesomorph or an ectomorph.
